The 10 Ugliest Bow Ties Money Can Buy

When it comes to men’s neckwear, you’d be surprised how expensive Ugly can get. I’ve scoured the internet for The World’s 10 Ugliest Bow Ties to keep away from when hunting for the perfect piece.

  • #10 The Wooden Bow Tie: There's nothing worse than a well dressed man ruining his ensemble with one of these surprisingly popular $65 wooden bow ties. Have you fallen victim to this fashion craze? Re-gift it as a paper weight, use it as a mixing spoon, use it as a ping-pong paddle. Just please, for god's sake, don't call it a bow tie.

Some of the other ties are a little dinky, but that feather bow tie is gorgeous…how unique. It must take so much time to handcraft something so beautiful. What a way to pay tribute to nature’s beauty…

Hi Em, yes it is a beautiful piece, but also one that shouldn’t be worn. =)

I don’t think those are the ugliest ties, I think those are the best conceptual art by handicraft.
I guess we can wear this to any casual occasions. I love the collection mate great piece.

Hi Sophia, thanks for your input. I was having fun with this post. I do think there are some very ugly pieces in there. There are two bow ties however, the burlap one and the feather one, that are right on the edge of being artistic rather than ugly. =)

    Hey Hendrik,
I actually think the wooden bow ties are quite fun. Very inappropriate for a formal occasion but meant for things like black-tie brunches, wine tasting, and relaxed summer weddings. Anyways, love the piece and hope you are doing well!

HI Jeff, thanks for the comment and your thought on the wooden bow tie. It is definitely something that has been trending in terms of men’s neckwear. That being said, who am I to judge… =) This post on the “10 Ugliest Bow Ties” was written in good fun. Personally though I couldn’t imagine wearing a wooden bow tie myself. There are so many nice fabric bow ties out there, that there is no need to go for materials like wood, metal, acrylics, and even stone (all of which do exist). Anyways hope you guys are doing well. Stop by sometime and I would be happy to get you some new bow ties (made from good old fabric) =)

I OWN one of the “ugly” wooden bow ties! IT’S GREAT!! The first time I wore it, many people stopped to do double takes. Of those, several asked if the tie was wooden.

It’s a great looking tie an very unique!

    You are missing out!

HI Jack, people turned around because they thought “damn that bow tie is ugly”. =) thanks for the comment. Don’t take it personal but I do think wooden bow ties are ugly and a fad that will go away very soon.
